On Tuesday, September 18, at the state council meeting, I mentioned that Kristina Johnson, VP Membership, developed and facilitated a new member orientation for 32 folks who attended. Two joined CISHRM at that meeting, and the rest were invited to attend our next chapter meeting as our guest. Thought this may be of use to you should you wish to consider offering a new member orientation. Kristina also brought paper CISHRM applications, copies of our most recent newsletter, and pictures on a posterboard of various CISHRM activities and events. This was the first time in many years that we offered a new member orientation, and it was very well received.

Hi! As the Marketing/Communications Chair for Iowa SHRM, my goal is to get more information out to all chapter members. Thanks to our Technology Chair, Larry Herzog, and all the Iowa SHRM Chapters, we now have a database of all members' e-mails. You should be getting regular e-mails from IowaSHRMNews especially regarding the upcoming Iowa SHRM Conference September 26-28, 2007 in Des Moines.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on how the Iowa SHRM Council can communicate more effectively to keep members aware of events and activities occuring in our State. Also, if you are not yet a member of the Iowa SHRM ListServe, sign up today. It is a totally free resource and you will have access to all kinds of information!!
